As the problem of global climate change becomes more apparent in the United States, public leaders are increasingly concerned about the need for direct action to reduce associated risks. Typically they want to provide cost effective solutions with strong public support; actions with significant energy, economic and environmental co-benefits; and local guidance to national policy development. Often they prefer to work in partnership with public and private stakeholders, and to cooperate across boundaries.
The Center for Climate Strategies supports leaders with the creation and management of climate mitigation policies, plans and programs. CCS works closely with government officials to identify detailed energy, environmental, and economic policy opportunities and appropriate processes for their development. CCS specializes in technical consensus building and capacity building, typically through creation of open processes that involve cross cutting groups of public agencies, stakeholders and technical experts. The CCS team is comprised of professionals highly experienced in development of climate, air, energy, transportation and natural resource policies.
CCS looked to GETF's ResourceSaver to provide cost effective web sites for the Arizona Climate Change Advisory Group (www.azclimatechange.us) and the New Mexico Climate Change Advisory Group (www.nmclimatechange.us). CCS was able to leverage ResourceSaver's template design in order to provide the most value to their clients.
